Joaquín Soto
Systems Architect · Former redIQ CTO · Now in Ecuador
You may remember me from Everyday Health (VP Engineering), redIQ (Co‑Founder & CTO), or Berkadia (Principal Engineer & Chief Architect). I've been off the radar since early 2022 — this is a brief update on where I am and what I'm building.
📍 What happened
During the pandemic I made personal choices that didn't align with the mainstream in New York. The professional and personal fallout was significant. I lost my apartment, my car, and spent time in a California jail on a charge that was dismissed. By late 2023 I was in Ecuador, starting over.
I'm sharing this because if you heard rumors or wondered where I went, now you know. I'm okay. And I never stopped building.
🧠 How my knowledge is organized
Over the years, I've developed specialized skills that I compartmentalized into distinct concepts. Each represents a real capability I can deliver — independently or working together. Think of them as different lenses on the same systems-thinking core:
Amplifica
Front‑end, UI/UX, creator tools. What you see. Landing pages, content tools, the visual layer. Explore →
Synkron
Validation, consistency, quality gates. The layer that ensures what ships actually works. Explore →
Infynexus
API, data pipeline, sync. The backbone that connects everything and persists state. Explore →
ObscuraCyber
Security, DevOps, infrastructure hardening. Keeping systems alive under real pressure. Explore →
Lumenol
Research, AI experimentation, epistemology. The thinking layer — how we know what we know. Explore →
Sigma Observatory
Visual graph of how all these concepts connect. A live, interactive map of the ecosystem. Open tool →
Each can be hired independently. Together, they form a complete ecosystem — from research to production.
🛠️ What this looks like in practice
These aren't just concepts — they're working tools. Here's how they serve real people:
For creators & sellers: Amplifica lets someone build a landing page in minutes, share it on WhatsApp, and start taking orders. No monthly fees, no algorithm dependency. Infynexus handles the data. ObscuraCyber keeps it secure.
For technical teams: Synkron validates pipelines. Infynexus provides API contracts that work offline. The code is vanilla HTML/CSS/JS — inspectable, auditable, no black boxes.
For researchers & investors: Lumenol documents AI experiments. Sigma Observatory visualizes the connections. The whole system is a living demonstration of applied systems thinking.
The bigger picture: Land & territory
Beyond digital tools, I've been designing real-world territorial systems — Eden in Puembo (a living laboratory applying passive energy, water gravity, and ecological principles), Campo VIVO (a regenerative tourism network), and Tiolando (cultural preservation). These are heavy projects that need serious investment and collaboration. But the digital tools above are designed to generate revenue independently — and eventually feed into this larger vision.

What I'm looking for
I'm 50. I've got one more long-term company in me before retirement — a place where I can contribute serious systems thinking, help build something durable, and work alongside people I respect. I'm open to senior engineering leadership, platform architecture, or advisory roles.
In the meantime, I need income. I need collaborators. And I need the ecosystem I've built to start generating revenue — for me and for the people who use it. If you see a connection to what you're building, let's talk.
I'm not asking for charity. I'm offering two decades of battle-tested systems architecture, a working ecosystem of tools, and a clear vision for where this goes. If that's useful to you, reach out.
Thanks for reading. I'm still the same builder — just operating from a different latitude, with a clearer sense of what matters.
